Our Community Outreach is focused on “serving”, that is, enabling members of our congregation to actively participate in serving the world around us.
There are numerous volunteer opportunities that are staffed by the friends and members of Green’s Farms Church. For example, our church is responsible for cooking and serving dinner at the Gillespie Center, Westport’s homeless shelter, twice a month.
Our middle school group regularly prepares lunches for Norwalk Shelter’s
Hungry Hearts program. They also learn about Outreach from “Cookies and Conversation,” a regular program where students bake cookies to be shared with a local non-profit.
At Christmas, we organize the annual Christmas Giving Tree program, whereby we collect approximately 120 gifts that are distributed by Christian Community Action, as well as gift card donations that were given to Bridgeport Rescue Mission.
The outreach ministry of Green’s Farms Church is also expressed through the ministry of other departments in the Church, including Education, Worship & Music, Fellowship and the individual efforts of the friends and members of the church.
The Church also makes available its facilities to community groups and individuals who are seeking event or meeting space. This includes organizations such as AA and The Boy Scouts of America. If interested in using our facility for your non-profit organization, please contact our church office.
