The table is set, come join the Feast!

This year Greens Farms Church is trying something new!  The entire Sunday School will be using lectionary based curriculums.  Following the same weekly texts that are being preached in worship, this united approach has the potential to bring all ages together in study and worship.  In these fragmented times we hope to help family members connect while learning about our faith as it’s practiced at home and in the church.

Our preschoolers (Three & Four Year Olds) will be using the Spark curriculum, a faith formation program designed to activate faith.  It’s innovative, intuitive, and Bible centered, created to encourage young kids and their parents to open their bibles and explore God’s word through a variety of age- appropriate, hands on activities that engage students with all sorts of learning styles.

The Bible Detectives (Kindergarten – Grade 5) will be using the Feasting on the Word curriculum providing teachers and parents with comprehensive, accessible biblical background.  Each week our teachers start preparing with a four part understanding of the text that will be studied including…

What are the important things to know about the contexts, language, and settings of the Biblical passage (Exegetical)

Where is God in this passage?  Where is the God of the Bible at work in this story? (Theological)

So what does this passage mean to me?  What does it mean for my relationship with God and other people? (Pastoral)

Now what can we do at church, home and school to live out what the passage is saying? (Homiletical)

Growing in their desire to join teams and organizations students will find experiences that communicate the many ways God’s word shapes what it means to be members of the body of Christ.

Grades 4 & 5

What difference can Jesus make in my life?

Looking ahead to the journey from childhood into the tween years students will investigate how the Christian faith can shape life choices.
