Green’s Farms Church Legacy Partners
The 300th Anniversary of Green’s Farms Church (GFC) prompted a celebration that reminded us of the legacy given to us by those who came before. The Legacy Partners has been established in response to requests by current members and friends of GFC for a way to become a part of the continuity of Christ in our lives and gratitude for God’s blessings through the Church.
Those who designate a past or current provision of a planned gift by All Saints' Sunday, November 6, 2011, will be acknowledged as Founding Members of the Green’s Farms Church Legacy Partners. Planned Gifts include a bequest in your will, a charitable remainder trust, gift annuity or other legacy gift.
The leaders of GFC recognize that our Church is rendered somewhat inflexible and vulnerable by a low capital base that needs to be strengthened so we can provide for the Church’s future. Our congregation has been inspired by the Holy Spirit to be financially supportive in annual pledging. But our budget for worship, music, fellowship, education and outreach is limited to those pledges.
Planned giving is another form of donating to support the future work of Christ’s Church. It involves giving from assets compared with annual pledging that typically involves giving from income. Membership in The Legacy Partners of GFC is a way of saying “thank you” to those who, through their estate planning have provided for the Church’s future while, at the same time, encouraging others to do the same.
14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 15 We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. 16 LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you."
