Reverend Jeffrey Rider - Senior Minister

Reverend Jeffrey Rider

Senior Minister

Jeff Rider is responsible for the vision and spiritual direction of the church, and provides leadership for the 10 member professional staff. Since coming to Green’s Farms in 2003, he has demonstrated a keen interest in the church’s vital ministries to children and youth. A grant recipient of the prestigious Lilly Endowment, Jeff and his wife, Lynn, returned in April from a two-week trek through the Annapurna Range in Nepal, part of a sabbatical study of Christian hospitality.

Jeff is a graduate of the College of Wooster where he majored in Theater. He received his Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School in 1988. Prior to being called to Green’s Farms, he served United Church of Christ (UCC) congregations in Vero Beach, FL, Akron, OH, and New Canaan, CT.

Lynn is an integral part of Jeff’s ministry, and directs GFC's Children Ministry. The couple has three children, Abby, Cal, and Jack.
Reverend Rebecca Floyd - Associate Minister for Youth

Reverend Rebecca Floyd

Associate Minister for Youth

Rebecca Floyd is the Associate Minister for Youth at Green’s Farms Church. Ordained in the United Church of Christ in 2013, Rebecca received her M.Div from Yale Divinity School and her BA from Wellesley College. Rebecca is passionate about building communities for youth that allow them to be authentic with each other, that encourage them to ask real questions about life and God, and that assure them that they do not walk alone.

How Rebecca describes working with youth:
“Young people are full members of the congregation, so my philosophy with them is to respect and encourage their ability to participate, ask questions, and grapple with faith and doubt. Listening to how they experience the challenges as well as the joys of discipleship is key to forming trusting and meaningful relationships with them and to fully involving them in the body of Christ.”

“For me, building relationships with kids and teens has to do with really listening and trying to understand their world and also being willing to translate the conversations about faith and God so that those conversations are relevant to their world.”
