Building on 300 YearsOur historic building has been rebuilt from the ground up at least twice and refurbished many times over the last 300 years. Most recently, beginning in 1995, we undertook a two-phase project to restore virtually every space in the church. The first phase of construction addressed such unglamorous issues as drainage problems and various mechanical system repairs, but it also refurbished many of the rooms and spaces we use every day. We restored our 150-year-old Meeting House (the Congregationalists' term for the sanctuary) and our Social Hall, the gathering place for Sunday morning coffee and many of our fellowship events. The main church kitchen was totally updated with new appliances, cabinets and storage areas. We relocated and improved the main church office and built new offices for our Christian Education Director and Minister of Music. Both our Youth Room and our Choir Room were refurbished and upgraded. In the process, we brought all these areas up to fire and electrical code.
