At Green’s Farms Church, we’re passionate about Sunday School! We welcome children into an environment where they can feel God’s love by experiencing Christian community. We introduce them to God’s story as told in the Bible. And we encourage each child to develop a personal relationship with the God revealed in Jesus Christ.
Newborns to toddlers discover God’s love in the Nursery lead by licensed daycare provider, Maureen Fay. Preschool students meet in an age appropriate classroom led by trained volunteer teachers where they learn about each week’s lectionary stories using the innovative “Spark” curriculum. Our elementary program, the “Bible Detectives”, for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5, is taught by theologically trained teachers with the help of enthusiastic parent volunteers! These students follow the lectionary readings using the thoughtful “Feasting on the Word” curriculum enhanced by experiential learning through a host of activities including science experiments, theater, cooking, gardening, singing, poetry, art work, games, and prayer under the guidance of Children’s Ministry Director, Lynn Rider. Our goal is to help children and families engage in faith as a way of life. We know that children learn best and retain what they learn longer when they are immersed in a fully interactive environment. Children and their families are invited to be active and involved in their lessons through a variety of activities designed to reach many different kinds of learners. When children are encouraged to learn by using their own unique gifts they come to know God and grow in faith in a way that makes sense to them, and ultimately informs every aspect of their lives.
