Confirmation
Who exactly is Christ and what did He do for me? What is the UCC? What exactly does the Bible say about faith? How do I pray? What does it mean to be part of the "body of Christ?" What does God have to do with me? These are just a few of the questions and topics that Confirmands explore as they take a look at what it means to be Christian.
Confirmation is the process whereby the individual explores their faith in anticipation of making an intentional decision to live their life as a committed Christian. This exploration is done within a group setting and is facilitated by a team of adult leaders. Each meeting we will explore a different topic and participate in different activities. Confirmands will have an opportunity to take part in both small group discussions, as well as time set aside for personal reflection. Confirmation is for 8th graders and is a 5-month program beginning January 5th with our retreat and ending May 20th, Confirmation Sunday. The classes will be held on Tuesday nights from 6-7:30pm, and dinner will be served on a rotating schedule by the families of the Confirmands.
We also expect that the 8th grade Confirmands will take part in our annual week long Mission Trip in June. This is a wonderful way to introduce them tot he senior high program as they move forward in their faith journey.
Confirmation is open to any and all interested 8th graders. This year our leaders are: Amy Forté, Jeff Rider, Karen Kosinski and Gary Domenico.
